The course for a degree in Legal Services for the Company (SeGi) arises from the transformation of the Course for a Degree in Economics and Legislation for Businesses (CLELI) and was established at the Faculty of Economics, in the academic year 2002/2003. The SeGi aims to train a jurist who possesses basic cultural and legal preparation, supported by sufficient economic-business, IT, telematic andlinguistic knowledge, and is intended to operate in private and public companies, in the third sector and in public administration. To achieve the qualifying training objectives of the Class for a Degree, the graduates of the Course in SeGi must unify, in particular: a solid basic cultural and legal preparation; a certain theoretical and applicative knowledge of national, European and international regulatory systems and the main sectors of articulation; adequate skills in micro and macro economics, functional regarding the knowledge of the structure and mechanisms of the markets and their actors; adequate regulatory and economic-business skills for the organization and management of public and private companies as well as for public administrations and for the solution of related problems; adequate knowledge of computer science and telematics, and in at least one language of the European Union. The ability to apply the theoretical concepts acquired on a practical level will be verified through the performance of compulsory internships at institutions, companies and external professional offices. The course for a degree intends to train qualified personnel destined to work in companies, public administrations, banks, insurance companies and financial intermediation, the third sector, trade unions and business organizations; but also freelancers destined to work as corporate legal advisors in the administrative, financial, tax, human resource management and trade union relations sectors. The course also provides basic training for the continuation of studies towards a master's degree in Legal Studies and in Law and in Economic and Business Sciences.
