The Degree Course (BiD) in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques (qualifying for the health profession in Biomedical Laboratory Technician) belongs to Class 3 of the Degrees in Technical Health Professions (L / SNT3) and aims to train health professionals who, according to art. 3 of Law 10 from August 2000, n. 251, carry out with technical and professional autonomy the technical procedures necessary for the execution of diagnostic methods on biological materials, in implementation of the provisions of the regulations concerning the identification of the figures and the related professional profiles defined by decree of the Ministry of Health (DM n. 745 of September 1994) and subsequent additions and amendments. Furthermore, the courses taught and also the thesis internships carried out at University Research Laboratories in the bio-medical sector and Zooprophylactic Institutes broaden the knowledge acquired by the graduate in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques that can be profitably employed by the pharmaceutical industry (mostly those with diagnostic and cosmetic specialties), from the Agri-food and zootechnical direction as well as from Research Laboratories / Bodies with a biomedical rection.The course is divided into three years and provides for the acquisition of 180 credits overall for the purpose of obtaining the relative degree. The number of exams is 19.The final exam has the value of a State Exam, enabling professional practice.The educational qualification allows access to Master's Degree Courses in the LM / SNT3 Technical Professions Health Sciences Class, without educational deb (Art 4, paragraph 3, of 19 February 2009), a first level Master's Degree and specialization courses .In the academic year 2011/2012 the first year of the course was activated pursuant to D.M.270 / 04 and subsequent implementation decrees.
