Arabic linguistics
Classical Arabic linguistics. The principal classifications of the Arabic dialects and the dialectal areas; general features. Ethnotexts in different Arabic dialects. Focus on the spoken Arabic of Jordan and Palestine.

Classes (54 hours)
Written exam: vocalization of a text in Modern Standard Arabic and its translation into Italian. Oral exam: key concepts in Arabic dialectology. In order to be admitted to the oral examination, students must have passed the written exam.
