Objectives

The topics presented during the lessons allow the student to evaluate the clinical outpatient risk and to learn the principles of the emergency, including the basics of first aid that every healthcare professional must be able to manage

Contents

1. The professional profile of the dental hygienist
2. The decalogue of the graduate in dental hygiene: what leads us to define the EU Charter for patients?
General concepts: continuing quality improvement of care and clinical governance
3. Professionals and knowledge: Security – Clinical Safety
4. General information on Clinical Risk Management (EBM-grey zone), best practices and guidelines - eg infection prevention: hand washing, use of antiseptics etc
5. Basic and considerations regarding the use of drugs needed to practice in hygiene
6. Pathophysiology and management of post-procedural / operative acute pain
7. Security: "The risk in the dental clinic"
8. Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): BLSD (theoretical lessons and hands-on practice)

Verification of learning:

The students' learning test will take place through an oral exam and the final assessment will be expressed in thirtieths.
The learning test will be carried out by means of an exam consisting of an oral test on the topics set out in the program in order to verify whether the student has achieved the set objectives, assessing his / her ability to exhibit and the completeness of the discussion of the topics covered by the interview.
