The course will focus on the object and scope of moral philosophy; various competing moral theories, from ancient to contemporary times, will be discussed. A work by H. Arendt, containing his lessons at the New School for Social Research (1965-1966), will be examined, devoting special attention to her reflections on the problem of evil.
