Mediation enables dialogue between different linguistic and cultural realities. Effective interaction between the actors is achieved through a dialogical exchange at various levels: interpersonal relationship and linguistic coherence in a broad sense (syntax, semantics and pragmatics). Mediation, in fact, is based on orality, the skillful use of shifts of speech, mnemonic and concentration effort, synthesis skills, references to different cultural contexts and adequate reformulation in the target language. These dynamics will be analysed and specific strategies between German and Italian will be indicated and strengthened. The student will learn to recognize his/her own abilities and potential, start a reflection on communicative and linguistic strategies, and ultimately increase his/her resources to achieve a satisfactory transition between the languages and cultures involved.
