Objectives

At the end of the course the student will have acquired the skills which enable them to carry out educational interventions necessary to identify early and limit the infectious risk and the most effective strategies to reduce the spread of infectious diseases also at international level.

Contents

The course aims to provide the necessary foundations to achieve the professional autonomy of future health assistants in the field of prevention of infectious risks, paying particular attention to practical aspects and operating methods.

- The specific functions of the Health Assistant in the prevention of infectious risks - Role of the health assistant in health surveillance systems
- The prevention and management of infectious risk from pathogenic and non-pathogenic agents
- The methodology of the epidemiological survey on infectious risks
- The assessment of infectious risks - Notes on the vaccination calendar
- Peer education and sexually transmitted diseases
- Educational intervention projects on risk behaviours for sexually transmitted diseases
- Travel and migration diseases
- The management of information flows related to infectious disease complaints
- The collection of interest data

Teaching Methods

The teaching is structured in 16 hours of frontal didactics with multimedia support and/or distant education by online learning.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

The level of learning achieved will be evaluated with a final exam consisting of an oral and/or written test aimed to ascertain the level of knowledge reached on the theoretical contents indicated in the program.
