The course aims to offer an overview of the most current issues in social ethics, with particular regard to those that relate to problems of professional deontology.
To this end, we will initially proceed with the analysis of the complex ethical-social relations that are at the basis of the profession of Social Worker, in order to try to understand them in the light of a philosophical reflection, with reference to specific currents of moral thought. Inserted in this context there will be the clarification of the sense and importance of the Professional Code of Ethics for Social Workers.
In particular, the course will address the issues concerning the ethics of "Care", in its problems and its perspectives.
Finally, the course will deal with the fundamental concepts of moral philosophy, through a survey of the most important figures and key words.
