The course allows students to acquire in-depth skills about history and interdisciplinary manifestations of cognitive sciences (psychology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, linguistics, philosophy, anthropology).
The course will favor the development of critical skills in the evaluation of theories related to the functioning of the mind.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand the features of the different theoretical approaches in Cognitive Sciences;
- elaborate and integrate knowledge into the workings of the mind and brain, simulation models (classical artificial intelligence, neural networks, dynamical systems), and their practical applications (human factors, etc.);
- interpret experimental protocols used for the study of mind and behavior;
- communicate in a clear and unambiguous way their multidisciplinary knowledge of Cognitive Sciences;
- deepen topics of interest in their own way.
