Objectives

At the end of the course, the students must acquire the basic knowledge of language and learning prerequisites development and diagnostic instruments for students attending primary and middle school

Contents

The course provides students with knowledge on the theoretical bases of language and learning development, focusing on protocols and diagnostic instruments used in primary and middle school.

- Language development, phonology and morphosyntax acquisition.
- Correlation between oral written language.
- Bilingualism: presentation of clinical cases
- Development of learning prerequisites (metaphonology, numerical abilities) and their assessment.
- CMF.
- PRCR-2.
- Introduction to Specific Learning Disorders.
- Reading development, stages, assessment and practice exercises.
- Writing development, stages, diagnostic instruments, practice exercises.
- Numeracy skills' prerequisites.
- Dyscalculia, tests and diagnostic instruments.
- Specific Learning Disorders: regulations.
- How to write a final report.

The level of learning achieved will be evaluated with a final exam consisting of an oral and/or written test aimed to ascertain the standard of knowledge achieved on the theoretical contents indicated in the program.
