The course aims to achieve the educational goal of the curriculum in psychology by providing the theoretical knowledge and the practical skills needed for the study of emotions and personality from a cognitive, neuropsychological, and biological theoretical perspective. The course will help the students to familiarize with the psychological tools and the research methodology adopted in the study of emotions and personality.

The student is expected to show to have achieved the following goals:

1) Understanding of current cognitive, neuropsychological, and biological theories upon personality and emotions
2) Understanding of how social environmental factors influence psychological and personality development
3) Knowledge of personality disorders with regards to the DSM-V criteria.
4) Understanding of the classical and modern theories of emotions
5) Understanding of the role of emotions on cognition
6) Make constructive use of the tools and methods used to study personality and emotions
