EDUCATIONAL GOALS
In line with the general aims of the Bachelor Degree in "Economics, Markets, and Development" (L33), the course has the general purpose to develop basic knowledge with regard to the following topics:
(1) behavioral individual choices;
(2) behavioral portfolio allocation;
(3) behavioral interpretation of financial markets.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students will learn about the role of behavioral bias, with a particular focus on individual financial investment choices and portfolio allocation and price dynamics in financial markets.
APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE
Students will understand and provide adequate interpretation of agents’ choices on financial markets, also distinguishing between rational choices and distortions driven by the more important behavioral bias.
ABILITY TO DERIVE CONCLUSIONS
Students will be able to interpret agents’ behavior on financial markets to catch their motivations and objectives. Students will also be able to read and understand current scientific literature on behavioral finance.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Students will be able to describe the typical issues that agents face on financial markets, by means of their knowledge of the current scientific literature. They will also be able to provide their contribution in operational environments, understanding causal links and adopting adequate methodologies to tackle complex issues.
ABILITY TO LEARN
Students will acquire the main theoretical and technical skills about agents’ behavior on financial markets. They will be able to continue their studies in finance and economics at graduate and post-graduate level.
