HISTORICAL GEOGRAPHY OF CULTURAL HERITAGE
The aim of the course is to develop the concept of cultural geography through the reading of the historical values that characterize Italy and the Abruzzo region.
In the concluding part the course will focus, through some examples, on the role of cultural tourism in the process of development of places.
The contents of the course are as follows:
-research tools of historical geography;
-historical geography of Italy (from antiquity to the 20th century)

Lectures in the classroom
Oral test aimed at ascertaining the knowledge and comprehension of the topics covered during the course and included in the study program.
Students shall demonstrate mastery of spatial and geo-cartographic skills, be able to recognize and describe the main physical geographic objects, and identify the elements distinguishing the different types of landscape.
The aim is to assess students’ skills and in particular, an understanding of the issues discussed during the course, an appropriate knowledge of the bibliography in the course programme, a correct command of the specific language as well as critical and methodological abilities will be evaluated. The grading scale goes from 1 to 30 with honours (cum laude): 1-17 fail, 18-21 sufficient, 22-24 fair, 25-27 good, 28-29 very good, 30-30 with honours (cum laude) excellent.
The student reception is on Tuesdays (9 am-1pm) and on class days at the end of lectures.
