FUNDAMENTALS OF COGNITIVE SCIENCES
The course will introduce students to the study of mind and behavior, by providing the basic knowledge on cognitive sciences and specific follow-up lectures on specific cognitive neuroscience research topics
Basic knowledge of cognitive science with follow-up lectures on specific cognitive neuroscience research topics
General Section:
1) Historical introduction to cognitive science
2) the mind-body problem: history and methodological fundamentals of cognitive neuroscience
3) Cognitive Psychology: sensation and perception; attention and consciousness; learning and memory.
Specific sections:
1) Frames of references and action
2) Perception and action
3) Decision-making
4) Temporal memory
5) Space, navigation and conceptual knowledge
Course material provided by the lecturer, including lessons’ pdf and research articles

The lectures make use of slides and concern theoretical aspects of the discipline integrated by practical examples of the main experimental paradigms
Oral examination or written test with open questions based on academic schedule
