The degree course in Sociology and Criminology aims, in general, for the enhancement of the sociological perspective of the globalization processes with particular attention both to the evolution of criminal phenomena and to intervention strategies and plans for prevention and promotion of social security.In achieving this purpose the main areas of interest include: a. the study of the theoretical and epistemological foundations of sociology, criminology and social research; b. the analysis of more appropriately applied areas that concern media communication, the redefinition of relations with the territory in general and with the urban environment in particular; c. the definition of policies and strategies for risk prevention and protection of victims of crime.In compliance with an eminently sociological perspective regarding the topics covered, the course also proposes the development of study areas also aimed at analyzing the quantitative and qualitative dimension of applied social research methodology and the study of the psychosocial and criminological physiognomy of offenders.
