The course is divided into two parts:
the first module, of an introductory nature, will focus on the main themes and problems of cultural anthropology (Culture/cultures – Culture, identity, alterity - Cultural diversity - Race, racisms, culture, ethnicity - Cultures and kinship – Fieldwork and current research perspectives) and on the developments that the discipline has taken on in the contemporary debate in relation to its public and applied use.
The second module, of a monographic nature, will deepen some aspects through which deviance can be declined in an anthropological sense, in particular the issues related to violence in its various forms (violence and culture - violence and the body - violence and conflicts - violence , memory, trauma), the interpretation of mafia phenomena and the social construction of the concept of mafia according to an anthropological approach, the role that the female figure reviews within criminal organizations and anti-mafia movements, also through the analysis of ethnographic cases and researches relating to different areas of the contemporary world.
