The Degree Course in Linguistic Mediation and Intercultural Communication L-12 is a highly specialized course in the linguistic field. In addition to technical linguistic training, which includes translation and mediation, the student is given a qualified linguistic, glottodidactic and micro-linguistic training, together with teaching in the field of multiethnic and multicultural contexts, including institutional environments. The aim of the course is to create a professional figure of a linguistic expert capable of performing an interlingual and intercultural mediation function. The course provides for the acquisition of knowledge and skills that can be usefully deployed in areas in which linguistic-cultural mediation activities play a fundamental role, such as public and private bodies, businesses and educational and training institutions, both at the national and international level. In collaboration with public and private bodies, the Department of affiliation also organizes internships aimed at familiarizing students with the various professional aspects of the course. Within the course framework, most credits are reserved for linguistic teachings, but these are accompanied by disciplines from other fields, particularly historical-cultural and literary, but also including economic-legal. Participation in courses, seminars and other educational and cultural experiences that extend or deepen the disciplinary specificities of the study path is also encouraged. The degree in Linguistic Mediation and Intercultural Communication allows access to various master's degrees, and in particular to the CdS LM38 and LM37.
