EDUCATIONAL GOALS
In line with the general aims of the Bachelor Degree in "Economics, Markets, and Development" (L33), the course has the general purpose to develop basic knowledge with regard to the following topics:
(1) Economics of markets and financial intermediaries.
(2) The structure of the financial system and its functions.
(3) Money and interest rates.
(4) The risks of financial activities.
(5) The financial intermediation activities.
(6) The main banking transactions and the most widespread financial instruments.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completing the course, students will understand the main characteristics of the financial dynamics, institutions, and financial agents with particular regard to markets and financial intermediaries. The acquired knowledge can be applied mainly in the financial sector as well as in economic public institutions, independent authorities, public and private companies, scientific research organisations, and local-national-and-international government institutions.
