Objectives

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: the course, as part of the general learning objectives of the CdS, aims to stimulate and guide the application of the knowledge acquires through the course "General Psychology II".
EXPECTED LEARNING RESULTS:
Knowledge and comprehension: the student
should be able to recognize and apply the principal experimental approaches in General Psychology;
-Autonomy of judgment: The student should be able to discuss the experimental situation in which he/she directly participated;
- Communication Ability: the student should be able to present and describe the experimental situation.

Contents

The course presents the following key topics:
- the design and development of an experimental paradigm in Cognitive Psychology;
-the manipulation of dependent and independent variables;
- subjects recruitment
- experimental proceure
- testing;
- Analyze data;
- discussion of results.

Extended Syllabus

The EPG is a stimulating introduction the research methods in Cognitive Psychology and offers students the possibility of acquiring the fundamental concepts and research tools to carry out research. Through the use of numerous examples, students will face the key concepts for carrying out efficient research: from the choice of the topic, to formulating hypotheses, the design of experimental paradigms, to methods of analysis, to the presentation of the results.

Verification of learning:

For those who attend the course, exam details will be given during the lessons. Generally, the EPG is evaluated through the active participation of an experimental situation in the lab. For those who do not attend, the exam is written with open questions (generally 5) regarding a graph showing behavioral data from the course text.
