Objectives

Understanding the integration of the cortex, hypothalamus and peripheral organs; acquire knowledge on the reciprocity between metabolic integrity and reproductive function.

Contents

1. Activation of the hypothalamus axis - pituitary - ovary from the pre-pubertal phase to puberty.
2. Neuro-endocrine control of the menstrual cycle: transition from the tonic phase of the hypothalamus to the cyclic phase.
3. Modifications of the neuro-endocrine axis during pregnancy and repercussions on maternal metabolisms.
4. Neuro-endocrine changes in menopause and repercussions on systemic metabolisms and brain supplements.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

The preparation of the students will be verified by an oral exam. The final score will be expressed in thirtieths and will take into account the notions covered by the lessons, the ability to connect between the various notions, the exhibition skills and the ability to develop deductive diagnostic connections.
