The proposed program will allow students who have not previously acquired disciplinary knowledge to achieve the indicated educational objectives. There are therefore no prerequisites, but supplementary readings may be recommended
The course will introduce students to the study of mind and behavior, by providing the foundations needed to frame the fundamental cognitive processes.
At the end of the course students should be able to: - elaborate and integrate knowledge into the workings of the mind and behavior. - communicate in a clear and unambiguous way the knowledge of human behavior - deepen topics of interest in their own way.
The course will examine some of the basic topics of general psychology and will provide conceptual guidance to help students to understand the fundamental issues of the psychology.
Basic processes of psychology: an historical Introduction to the science of mind and behavior; sensation; perception; learning; memory; emotion, stress, anxious disorders
Passer, Holt, Bremener, Sutherland, Vliek & Smith (2015). Psicologia generale. La scienza della mente e del pensiero. McGraw Hill Only chapters, 5,6,7,8,9,14. Furthermore, integrative material will be provided during course.
The course is composed by 20 hours of teaching, divided according to the academic schedule. The lectures make use of slides and concern theoretical aspects of the discipline integrated by practical examples.
Written exam, multiple choice. Results will get 30/30 points at the maximum
Frequency is mandatory. Office hours: Tuesday, 2-4 AM, third floor, ITAB
