LEARNING OBJECTIVES.
The course aims at providing basic knowledge in the psychobiology field, developing critical thought in both theoretical and methodological domains.
The module contributes to the fulfillment of the educational goal of the Degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques by providing both knowledge and skills to acquire the theoretical fundamentals of the psychological knowledge developed within the psychobiology and cognitive neuroscience field. Emphasis will be placed on the comprehension of both structures and functions of the nervous system underpinning thought and behavior.
LEARNING OUTCOMES.
The student will have to demonstrate the acquisition of:
1) knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and methodological bases of the discipline, the basic psychobiological mechanisms underlying the main cognitive functions and sensory processes;
2) knowledge and understanding of the biological, physical and chemical bases of the central nervous system functioning;
3) ability to connect and integrate different knowledge to independently manage the complexity of the discipline;
4) ability to communicate the acquired knowledge clarly and through the appropriate disciplinary lexicon.
