Students are required to be familiar with knwoledge dealing with principles and theories of philosophical and socio-psyco-pedagogical sciences.
The main objective of the course is to frame special pedagogy in the context of the more general debate on the identity of pedagogical knowledge in relation to other educational knowledge. In particular, the course is aimed at acquiring in-depth knowledge of the founding nuclei of special pedagogy, starting from its origins and following its historical evolution and recognition in today's society. Central will be the ability to distinguish the specific educational needs present in individuals with disabilities or who experience situations of hardship and marginality.
The core of the teaching is reflection on the epistemological, conceptual and methodological definition of didactics and special pedagogy. Particular attention will be paid to the analysis of the category of difference, of the regulations governing school inclusion processes, of educational and didactic interventions for the inclusion of pupils with disabilities, pupils with special educational needs, and people with DSA.
