Main contents of the first module is the study of the basic notions of the dynamics of discrete linear systems preparatory to the second module that focuses on the principles of earthquake engineering design following the Italian Building Code and Eurocode 8. The following topics will be presented: seismic hazard in Italy, linear methods of analysis, principles of capacity design and their implications in the design of earthquake resistant reinforced concrete buildings.
