Eduardo De Filippo’s dramatic works: from Neapolitan comedy to popular drama.
In the post-war context, Eduardo’s theatrical activity is an example of social and political commitment that aims to the resumption of artistic activity as dialogue and reflection. During the course some fundamental texts of Eduardo’s work will be analyzed, in relation to the Italian comic tradition (commedia dell’arte, Goldoni, Pirandello, Neapolitan dialect theatre) and to the European tradition (also the tragic one).
