SCIENTIFIC ENGLISH
During the Course the students will learn to correctly perform a bibliographic search on PubMed Medline, and they will know the text genres. They will train their reading skills, a language ability that will be useful for them to study and update on international scientific literature.
The linguistic issues related to scientific research are discussed. The different types of scientific journals and scientific articles are dealt with (reviews, full papers, case reports, etc.) analyzing their particular structures. Subsequently, reading and in-depth analysis of the various medical articles are done, in order to gain autonomy in reading, understanding and translating the articles themselves.

Structure of scientific articles.
Attending lessons is sufficient for students to learn the subjects in the final examination. As aid for studying students can consult the Internet site accepted by the international scientific community like PubMed Medline and the section Medline Plus.
In-class lessons.
The final exam consists in 30 multiple choice questions concerning the issues discussed during in-class lessons. The students must answer to 18 questions correctly.
The test will be held in the Aula Informatizzata.
