Objectives

Acquire knowledge of the most widespread pathologies of the cardiovascular and pneumological system and know the application of the concepts of evidence-based medicine and personalized medicine in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of organic and systemic pathologies.
At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate:
- Knowledge and understanding:.
The student will have to demonstrate knowledge and ability to understand the pathophysiological processes connected to cardiopulmonological diseases, the diagnostic classification of their competence and the indications for any diagnostic-therapeutic procedures also in relation to gender differences. They will also have to learn the risk factors and the concept of prevention in the cardiology and pneumology fields.
-Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
The student will be able to describe the factors that regulate the function of the cardiovascular and pulmonary system, to predict the acute and chronic response in subjects suffering from cardiac and pneumological pathologies, and the instrumental diagnostic procedures applicable in different clinical pictures. They must also be able to apply Evidence Based Health Care and apply the tools for researching scientific evidence. . He/she will also have to demonstrate the ability to apply personalized medicine in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of organic and systemic pathologies.
- Autonomy of judgement
The student must be able to apply the management and treatment of patients affected by the pathologies in question independently and within their own competence

The development of these skills will also be supported thanks to the classroom discussion of practical examples and clinical cases
Communication skills
The student will have to demonstrate correct use of specialist terminology in the cardiovascular and pneumological fields and the ability to present and communicate verbally and written assessments and technical assistance decisions in the field of acute and chronic pathologies in interdisciplinary healthcare teams and the concepts of evidence-based medicine.
Ability to learn.
The student will have to develop learning skills to apply them in the disciplines of the Course of Study, and will have to develop updating skills by consulting scientific publications, in-depth courses and specialist seminars in the sector of analysis of the cardiovascular system.

Outline of the anatomy and pathophysiology of the cardiovascular system.
• Ischemic heart disease: risk factors, atherosclerosis, chronic and acute coronary syndromes: etiopathogenesis, pathophysiological, diagnostic and therapeutic framework.gender differences

Teaching Methods

Oral lessons - teaching will be supported by slides prepared by the teacher- Interviews with the learners at the beginning of the lesson to check the doubts and concerns related to the previous lessons.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

The learning outcomes will be assessed through a final oral exam to verify the level of achievement of the educational objectives The assessment criteria will concern the correct use of the specific language of the discipline, knowledge and mastery of the contents, clarity of presentation, the ability to synthesize in critical analysis of the cardiovascular system.
The lecturers of the modules will ask the student questions on topics present in the program. The final grade will result from the weighted average of the marks of the individual teachers and will be expressed out of thirty.
The exam will not be passed if it is ascertained that it is impossible to answer a question, to argue on the topic or if during the dialogue with the teacher the student highlights gaps that preclude the possibility of understanding the subject of the question.
The result of the exam is expressed out of thirty according to an increasing scale in relation to the demonstration of knowledge, the appropriateness of the language, the logic and consistency of the presentation:
- sufficient but lacking basic knowledge: mark 18 - 22 out of thirty;
- discrete knowledge and clarity of presentation: grade 23-25 out of thirty;
- good knowledge and ability to illustrate the topics with properties of language and mastery of the subject: grade 26-28 out of thirty;
- excellent knowledge of the topics and excellent presentation skills, critical reasoning: grade 28-30 out of thirty.
Honors are reserved for students who demonstrate particularly in-depth knowledge, particular ability to show and critical reasoning.
