Objectives

Acquire knowledge about the most common the cardiovascular system diseases
At the end of the course, the student must demonstrate
- Knowledge and understanding :.
The student must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the pathophysiological processes related to cardiovascular diseases, the diagnostic framework of their competence and the indications for any diagnostic-therapeutic procedures, also correlating gender differences.He will also have to learn the cardiovascular risk factors and the concept of cardiovascular prevention
- Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
The student will be able to describe the factors regulating cardiovascular function, to predict the acute and chronic response in subjects suffering from cardiovascular diseases and the diagnostic instrumental procedures applicable in the different clinical situations.
-Autonomy of judgment
The student must be able to independently apply the management and the path of the patient affected by cardiovascular diseases. The development of these skills will also be supported thanks to the discussion of practical examples in the classroom
Communication skills
The student must demonstrate a correct use of specialist terminology in the cardiovascular field and the ability to present and communicate verbal and written assessments and technical assistance decisions in the context of acute and chronic diseases of the cardiovascular system in the interdisciplinary health team.
Ability to learn.
The student will have to develop learning skills to apply them in the disciplines of the Degree Course, will have to develop refresher skills by consulting scientific publications, in-depth courses and specialist seminars in the field of cardiovascular system analysis

Outline of the anatomy and pathophysiology of the cardiovascular system.
• Ischemic heart disease: risk factors, atherosclerosis, chronic and acute coronary syndromes: etiopathogenesis, pathophysiological, diagnostic and therapeutic framework.gender differences
• Complications of myocardial infarction.
• Aortic, mitral and tricuspid valvulopathies: Ethiopathogenesis, pathophysiological framework, instrumental diagnostic and therapeutic
• Cardiomyopathies: general classification of primary and secondary cardiomyopathies.
• Endocarditis: Ethiopathogenesis, pathophysiological, diagnostic and therapeutic framework.
• Pericarditis: general classification of acute and chronic pericarditis and constricting pericarditis: etiopathogenesis, pathophysiological classification, diagnostic. Cardiac tamponade.
• Arrhythmias: etiopathogenesis, classification, complications.
• Heart failure: etiopathogenesis, classification, pathophysiology, instrumental diagnostic classification.
• Notes on the most common cardiological emergencies: acute pulmonary edema; shock; syncopes of cardiac origin; cardiac arrest

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

The learning outcomes will be assessed through a final oral exam to verify the level of achievement of the educational objectives The assessment criteria will concern the correct use of the specific language of the discipline, knowledge and mastery of the contents, clarity of presentation, the ability to synthesize in critical analysis of the cardiovascular system.
The lecturers of the modules will ask the student questions on topics present in the program. The final grade will result from the weighted average of the marks of the individual teachers and will be expressed out of thirty.
The exam will not be passed if it is ascertained that it is impossible to answer a question, to argue on the topic or if during the dialogue with the teacher the student highlights gaps that preclude the possibility of understanding the subject of the question.
The result of the exam is expressed out of thirty according to an increasing scale in relation to the demonstration of knowledge, the appropriateness of the language, the logic and consistency of the presentation:
- sufficient but lacking basic knowledge: mark 18 - 22 out of thirty;
- discrete knowledge and clarity of presentation: grade 23-25 out of thirty;
- good knowledge and ability to illustrate the topics with properties of language and mastery of the subject: grade 26-28 out of thirty;
- excellent knowledge of the topics and excellent presentation skills, critical reasoning: grade 28-30 out of thirty.
Honors are reserved for students who demonstrate particularly in-depth knowledge, particular ability to show and critical reasoning.
In the event of a health emergency, the oral exam will be carried out remotely using the platform suggested by the University.
