The course aims to offer a critical reflection on the complex historical-theoretical path taken by pedagogy towards the acquisition of an autonomous epistemological statute of a scientific nature in which education emerges as a regent category, capable of providing individuals with the tools to meet the challenges of a complex society. Attention will also be focused on the educational models of today's complex society, the crisis of democracy and the new educational emergencies.
