The course is divided in two parts. The first part will focus on authors, genres, movements and texts of Italian literature from its origins up to the turning point between the 19th and 20th centuries. The second part will focus about italian litterature and cinema.
For the first part:
An authoritative reading list concerning the history of literature; it is possible to study on the same book / books bought during the high school courses.
Recommended editions of Dante’s “Commedia”: Pasquini-Quaglio, Milano, Garzanti, 1982-86; G. Inglese, Roma, Carocci, 2007.
For the second part of the course:
1) Boccaccio, Dante e Verdone, edited by Antonio Sorella, Firenze, Cesati.
2) Letteratura e cinema, edited by Alberto Bianchi and Dagmar Reichardt, Firenze, Cesati.
For the students who cannot be present in the classes:
3) Giacomo Manzoli, Cinema e letteratura, Roma, Carocci.
