The course aims to introduce students to an intermediate knowledge of the health economy. The health sector represents one of the most important sectors within the economic systems of developed countries: by absorption of resources, employees, impact on growth and complexity of production processes. The efficient management of resources in healthcare is based on the study of the many peculiarities that make the healthcare sector singular compared to other sectors of the economy.
Expected learning outcomes:
1) Knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand in depth the behavior of the main agents in the healthcare sector.
2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the student will be able to rigorously analyze and understand in depth some of the most important topics of the health economy
3) Communication skills. At the end of the course, the student will be able to use the economic language in an adequate way, and to rigorously expose and discuss the mathematical relationships underlying the models studied.
