EDUCATIONAL TARGETS
The course aims to provide the basic tools for the knowledge of economic policies with the intention of helping to train the skills to understand the objectives of economic policy and the actual impact of the same on the economic system and society in general. These skills can then be acquired by studying and comparing different theoretical models and through empirical analysis.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student, with the acquisition of credits, will purchase the tools to:
- understand the different instruments of economic policy;
- assess the reasons justifying state intervention in the economy;
- critically assess the impact on the system of the various economic policy measures.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
At the end of the course students will be able to apply the acquired knowledge to analyze the choices and effects of economic policies as well as the social consequences of them, also in terms of sustainability.
MAKING JUDGMENTS
The student will be able to independently collect and evaluate the information needed for the analysis of the effects of economic policies.
The actual possession of the autonomy of judgment is verified through the test of verification in which it will have to demonstrate synthesis, analysis, processing and language appropriateness.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Students will be able to present the acquired knowledge in a suitable language and with methodological rigour.
LEARNING SKILLS
The student will be able to understand the role of economic policy in the models of growth and sustainable development and will have acquired a working method useful for continuous updating in their work context of reference, also thanks to the discussion in the classroom of case studies useful to apply what learned from a theoretical point of view.
