The contents of the course will be based essentially on the basic theoretical perspectives for the study of social policy; therefore, the characteristics of Welfare in Italy will be taken into consideration, declined in the various historical phases of the social and economic history of our country, as well as the dynamics of social policies.
In addition, the course will focus on health, pension and labour policies, as well as on the connections between Welfare/social policies and the family.
The course aims to provide students with a general understanding of the historical evolution of social policies in the Italian and European context. The objective will be to provide analytical tools in order to recognize the intricate networks of social, political and economic interconnections that characterize social policy interventions.
Lectures will be face-to-face, with the use of slides/films and in-depth seminars.
The examination will be oral.
