The degree course in Design aims to form a professional profile of designers with technical skills in the fields of Product design, Interior design and Communication design. The activities envisaged by the degree course are aimed at the acquisition of knowledge, skills, methods and tools to operate in all phases of the project of material and digital industrial artifacts, from precompetitive analysis to the project brief, from the generation and evaluation of ideas to the development of the concept design, from product development to the pre-engineering, production and product launch phases. The main theme of the degree course is the concept of innovation referring to the processes of creating value in the different areas of project application. The training model is interdisciplinary. It’s expressed through theoretical-critical lessons, multidisciplinary laboratories, workshops, compulsory third-year internship in companies and professional studios and a degree thesis. Specifically, after a common biennium of theoretical-methodological and instrumental training (humanistic, economic, scientific-technological areas, design), and design (product design, interior design and communication design), students are offered in the third year the possibility to characterize one's own path by accentuating the preparation on one of the three project areas, through the choice of the final synthesis laboratory in Product design, in Interior design or in Communication design. The result is a way of learning capable of fostering the creative processes of mutual enrichment between design, cultural, productive and economic spheres, through direct interactions with teachers and with nationally and internationally renowned designers, relationships with important manufacturing companies at the stage level and with research networks that also operate internationally on the themes of Design. The training course of the degree program in Design defines the skills associated with different professional profiles in the areas of product design, interior design and communication design. Design graduates have a wide range of professional opportunities to enter the world of work in companies, design studios and companies, cultural institutions and public bodies, editorial offices and service agencies. The course forms the following professional figures: product designer, interior designer, communication designer, graphic designer, web designer, eco-designer, product ergonomist. In order to enroll in the Design Degree Course, students must hold an upper secondary school diploma obtained in Italy or another qualification obtained abroad that is recognized as suitable. The final test consists of a critical reflection and a deepening of the project developed in one of the final synthesis laboratories (LSF of Product design, LSF of Interior design, LSF of Design of communication). The thesis takes place under the guidance of a supervisor and is assessed by a graduation commission. The qualification obtained allows access to master's degree and master's degree courses according to the curriculum requirements established by each university.
