Objectives

The teaching is part of the general objective of the study course to provide theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and the ONU Convention, guaranteeing the student a shared clinical practice within the rehabilitation team.

Learn theoretical and practical knowledge about the ICF
Learn about the relationship between the ICF and the ONU convention on the rights of people with disabilities.

Contents

The course will cover the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and the ONU Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The aforementioned topics are aimed at achieving the expected learning outcomes.

Extended Syllabus

•Environment between mental and rehabilitation.
•International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF): historical evolution of the concepts of impairment-disability-handicap (from handicap to person with disabilities); ICF components [Functioning and disability (body functions and structures, activity and participation) Contextual factors (environmental factors and personal factors)]; practical use of the ICF (clinical cases); future guidelines for the ICF.
•ONU Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: ONU Convention and ICF; ICF-CY; People with disabilities in Italy.

Teaching Methods

The teaching is divided into 20 hours of frontal teaching, which include a strong interactive component between teacher and students.
