Objectives

The aim of the course is to teach the student
1. The theoretical fundamentals of quantitative assessment in psychology
2. Fundamental knowledge to use methodologies and instruments of psychological/cognitive assessment in clinical/rehabilitative environments
3. The theoretical elements of scientific research (references to methods and ethics), in particular clinical research

Basics of psychometrics, quantification in psychology, cognitive assessment and scientific methods

Extended Syllabus

Psychometrics program

1. The concept of quantification in psychology (educational objective nr. 1)
2. cognitive assessment: cognitive dimensions and clinical tests (educational objective nr. 1 and 2)
3. Reliability and validity in measurement(educational objective nr. 1)
4. The phases of scientific research (practical exercise: individual literature research and analysis of a scientific research article; clinical research paper in English) (educational objective nr. 3)

Study materials will be provided by the teacher through the institutional channels (Microsoft Teams e e-learning)

Oral examination on the presented topics (interview of approximately 15 minutes)
