: 1) Upon completion of the course, the student will have acquired basic knowledge related to: 1. historical Romance linguistics; 2. the history of medieval Romance literatures; 3. cultural-historical framing of the period of Romance origins. He/she will also be able to read medieval texts and translate from at least one medieval Romance language recognizing its main phonomorphological and syntactic features.
2) Applied knowledge and autonomy of judgment: by the end of the course, the student will be able to establish simple connections between Romance languages and literatures; he/she will have refined linguistic and literary skills in a Romance language and will be able to independently formulate and support complex arguments and commentaries on texts, including those new to the course.
3) Communicative skills: at the end of the course, the student will be able to communicate and share information, problems and solutions in a congruent vocabulary and in a clear manner; he/she will also be able to communicate ideas and formulate hypotheses with a specialized and up-to-date vocabulary.
4) Learning skills: by the end of the course the student will have developed the autonomy to move among the basic tools and will be able to navigate the specialized bibliography and dictionaries.
